washington photographer

It took me a long-ass time to find my path. I’ve always loved art — especially photography — but there are so many amazing photographers out there, and for a while, I thought I had to be like them to be successful. I tried, but it never felt right. I was constantly battling imposter syndrome and just never fully comfortable in my own skin.

Then one day, I said fuck it. I’m gonna do this my way. I’m gonna be my full, messy, honest self — and trust that my people will find me. I don’t want to blend in. I want to stand out by being real. And more than anything, I want you to feel that same kind of freedom when we work together.

This space I’ve created? It’s not about perfection. It’s about showing up as you are. It’s about feeling at ease, laughing too hard, maybe crying a little, and creating images that actually mean something — because they look and feel like you.

FACTS

I cuss like a sailor… sometimes

I cuss. I’m an adult, and although I am highly educated and have an extensive vocabulary, I do cuss. And if one (or two) slip out, then it happens, and I don’t feel the need to apologize for it. Besides, people who cuss tend to be more honest, and I pride myself on my level of honesty and accountability.

I am an adult only photographer

I do not work with clients or their children who are under the age of 18. It’s not my niche, nor is it my passion. I give big props to those out there who are family and child photographers, many of them are absolutely fantastic storytellers, but its simply not where my passion lies. I want to tell your story - you’re an adult, you have grown into your own person, and that is what interests me.

My free time is filled with Romantasy

I have always loved to read fiction - the mix of real life, history and science in a fantasy always captivated me. But romantasy is where my heart is at. I told you, I love love. I find the characters more relatable, open to self-growth, and unafraid to follow their hearts. If only we were all that brave!

my side-hustle quest is everything

My dream was never to be rich, my dream was to be happy - is to be happy. But life is expensive, and I have dream locations to visit, places to explore and food that I really want to eat. I once read that to be rich, it takes 3 avenues of income. My photography is one, my clothing line is another, and my day job makes 3. It does make me rather busy at times, but when you do what you love, it doesn’t feel like work, it feels like making art, like making friends, and getting to make new memories. That feels pretty rich to me, so I’ll take it!

ADDICTED to ink

I love tattoos - I find them to be a beautiful form of self-expression. I currently (only) have 9 - with a sleeve ‘in progress’. I have a dozen more in mind but I make myself wait for at least a year before I get a new one, just to make sure it really is what I want, and represents what I am seeking to express entirely. It is permanent after all.

my hero-era

I’ve been a small business owner for 13 years, I have recently completed my Master in Fine Arts, I am a birth-mother, a breast cancer survivor, and a great friend. I’ve overcome a lot in my life, evolved to be a better person than I was 20+ years ago and I am proud of who I am. I love how that makes me feel, so I will always keep working to become the next, best version of myself. Life is to short to be anything else, and each day I get to be with the people I love is a gift. I am going to keep giving it my all, keep being an example to my kids, and keep doing what makes me happy.. and I’m going to keep being my own hero.

These Values are important a.f. to me:

Love is love.

Women’s rights are human rights.

Black lives matter.

Science is real.

Education empowers.

Healthcare is a human right.

  • "I think everything in life is art. What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. THe food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art."
